LEAK

DO YOU THINK YOU HAVE A LEAK? TRY THE BUCKET TEST FIRST.

HOW TO PERFORM THE BUCKET TEST

• Turn pool equipment off by the breaker for 48 hrs.

• Place an empty bucket on the top step of the pool.

• Fill bucket with hose to pool water level.

• Mark the water lines on inside and outside of bucket.

• Come back in 48 hours to compare the water levels.

After the bucket test completion, turn the equipment back

on and begin running it.  Is the equipment pad wet?

Water evaporates 2-4” a week during summer months especially with a water feature. Still think you have a leak? We can call leak detection. The cost is $400. We cover the $400 fee if it is found to be the fault of Island Way.

POOL FINISH & SHELL

All pool finishes come with a minimum of a 10 year warranty from the manufacturer. In order for your pool finish warranty to be valid, you MUST keep all water chemistry records from the date of purchase.

Maintaining your pool finish:

  • BRUSH

You must brush the entire pool surface, from the top of the walls down, starting at the shallow-end and ending at the deep-end at least once a day.

  • BALANCED WATER CHEMISTRY

Balanced water chemistry is critical to maintain the appearance of your pool finish.

Deterioration, discoloration and scaling as a result of the premature

or improper use of chemicals and use of chemical feeders are the responsibility of the homeowner or trained pool technician. Your daily water chemistry should always stay within the perimeters of the Langelier Saturation Index listed below. Following these guidelines will help to reduce the likelihood of problems with the pool surface. Failure to follow the manufacturer’s instructions and to control the LSI may cause deleterious effects, which are not the result of improper workmanship or a manufacturer's defect.

Langelier Saturation Index

Free Chlorine = 1 to 3 ppm (Above 4.0ppm may cause corrosion)

Total Chlorine = 1 to 3 ppm

pH = 7.4 to 7.6

Alkalinity = 80 to 120 ppm

Calcium Hardness = 200 to 400 ppm

Cyanuric acid = 50 to 80 ppm

TDS = 300 to 1800 ppm (Non-salt pools)

Salt Level = 2500 to 3500 ppm (Salt chlorination ONLY)
