How Island Way Pools Builds Your Pool Project
Consultation & Design
To begin the design process, we need you to provide a property survey of your home. Once received, we’ll schedule an in-home consultation with a member of our design team. This personalized visit allows us to understand your vision and aesthetic preferences while also getting pictures & measurements of your home. These in-home visits are key to providing you the most accurate proposal. Following the consultation, our team will send a 3D design and accurate cost estimate for you to review. Our Director of Sales will then invite you to our showroom to discuss your project details and to give you the opportunity to explore our selection of pool materials. Permitting
After signing your contract, our in-house permitting team begins preparing your permit package. We use BuilderTrend, a project management platform that gives you access to your build schedule, project updates, and key milestones; keeping you up to date every step of the way. While permitting timelines can vary by municipality, homeowners in Pinellas, Hillsborough, & Polk counties can typically expect approvals within 4–6 weeks. Once your permit is issued, you'll be introduced to our Director of Operations and your project manager to walk you through the next phases of your project. Build
The Island Way Team is currently completing new pool construction projects 6-12 weeks after breaking ground. All of our pool projects have a dedicated project manager whose goals are to manage time-frames, project quality, and most of all, provide an open line of communication with the you. I have a small backyard.
Can I still have a pool built?
You can absolutely have a pool built in a small backyard! Small or uniquely shaped properties just require some flexibility with the design as we work around your county's regulations. Small pools, cocktail pools, plunge pools, and spools have been a popular trend in recent years as people look to fit more than a pool in their outdoor living space!
Do you employ subcontractors?
Island Way Pools has in-house crews to tackle many stages of your custom outdoor living project. We subcontract your custom pool's electrical, plumbing, and screen enclosure. Our subcontractors are all licensed in the state of Florida and have been working alongside us on pool projects for over 6 years.
Does adding a swimming pool increase my homes value?
On average in the Florida, adding a swimming pool to your home can increase its value by 5-8%. The biggest impact a pool can have on homes in Florida though is how fast it will sell! Homes with pools tend to sell faster. Especially in high-demand areas with warmer weather for most of the year... sounds exactly like homes in Pinellas & Hillsborough counties.
How long does it take to build a pool?
On average a custom pool project takes 3-4 months from the signing of your contract to you being able to swim. After you have your initial design and have made your material selections, our Director of Sales Zach can let you know if you any aspect of your project may affect this timeline.
Will my pool or outdoor living project come with a warranty?
Yes, every component of your Island Way pool will be covered under warranty; from your pool shell and deck to all of your pool equipment and plumbing. During the installation of your pool, your project manager will ensure all of your equipment is registered for warranty.
Will you submit plans to my HOA?
Our in-house permitting team will not only submit all paperwork with your local municipality but, will also put together a pool package to submit to your HOA as well! All we will ask of you is to send us your communities rules and regulations so we can ensure we submit all the proper documents. For many communities in the Tampa Bay Area, we have experience submitting plans with their HOAs.
Will I be taught how to
operate my pool equipment?
After your pool project is complete and has been filled with water, your dedicated project manager will go through "Pool School" with you to ensure you know how to operate all of your pool equipment. In addition to pool school, we provide a 30-day pool start-up service to guarantee that your pool starts out properly balanced and your pool finish is cured properly.
